Upcoming Event: Wesleyan Artist Market

Updated: Aug 3, 2019

If you follow my social media, you may have seen announcements about my participation in an upcoming local art event, the Wesleyan Artist Market. But, if you haven’t heard, at the end of April, I am going to be showing and selling my work at the Annual Wesleyan Artist Market of North Atlanta. I am going to keep this post short and sweet, and answer any questions you may have about this upcoming show:

2018 Wesleyan Artist Market.

What is the Wesleyan Artist Market?

Dubbed as the premier art show of North Atlanta, the Wesleyan Artist Market features over 100 professional artists from in and around the southeast. All the artists are present and in their booths throughout the event, which provides shoppers with a unique opportunity to engage with artists exhibiting their work. Besides all of the awesome art, there are also food trucks on site and live entertainment during the event.

What kinds of art can I expect to see at the Artist Market?

The Wesleyan Artist Market showcases a wide repertoire of artwork including (but not limited to) acrylic and oil paintings, drawings, ceramics, glass and metal work, jewelry, sculpture, and photography. The Artist Market features professional artists, as well as a select group of student and faculty artists. Between all of these artists, the style is widespread, so there is sure to be something for everyone.

What kind of art will you be showcasing and selling at the Artist Market?

Throughout the past several months, I have been working to prepare one-of-a-kind pieces for this market. I have worked very hard to create a wide array of artwork to appeal to many audiences, while still staying true to myself and my style as an artist. At my booth, you can expect to see original paintings, drawings, magnets, stickers and other unique items. I can also tell you that I am planning to do a giveaway as well! I’ve added a preview below of a few items I have not shared yet before that I am planning to showcase and sell at the market:

How did you get involved with the Wesleyan Artist Market?

Wesleyan, my Alma Mater, is a private school in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. For more than twenty years, Wesleyan has hosted its annual Artist Market on its campus. Way back when, I participated in the market as a student artist in high school, and I now have the privilege of getting to return this year as a professional artist.

What happens to the proceeds from purchases made at the Artist Market?

While this is a great opportunity to support up and coming artists and small businesses, a portion of all Market proceeds also go to benefit Wesleyan and their Art Department. More specifically, the Wesleyan Arts Alliance, which support art education, facilities and other art programs at Wesleyan. I could talk all day about my personal beliefs in the importance of art education in schools, but that’s another topic for another day. That being said, I can personally attest that Wesleyan offers its students unparalleled state-of-the-art facilities for performing and visual arts, and this Artist Market helps to support that great cause.
