Readers dearest, It feels hard to believe it's already almost October, but, as the month comes to a close, I'm excited to announce that I am going to be participating in Inktober again this year. Inktober is an annual viral drawing challenge. Every year, artists across the world take the #Inktober challenge to draw and share something every single day for the month of October. The official Inktober account creates a prompt, but many artists create their own or use other artists' prompts. So, this year, I've created my own unique prompt for the first time, and I want to invite you to join me in this challenge! The rules are simple:
Make a drawing using the daily prompt.
Post it. *
Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2020 (and feel free to tag me so I can see your beautiful work!)
Repeat. *Post it on social media, or just post it on your fridge--doesn’t matter how, just share it with someone!
You can participate as few or as many days as you want. Some people take the challenge to draw every day, others opt for the "half-marathon" or drawing every other day, and some participate sporadically whenever they have the time. No matter what you decide, know that there's no pressure! If your goal is to participate every day, I'd encourage you to avoid the expectations that every day's work will be a finished masterpiece. It's okay if some days are just a loose sketch, as long as you just take the time to draw and create! Inktober is simply about fostering positive habits and creating in fellowship with other artists.
